Kia Parks Colombia
Santa Marta
A Legacy for the City and the Future

Before
After

Learn more of our space

As part of the commemoration of Santa Marta's 500th anniversary, Kia presents the city with its first Kia Parks, a space with purpose. This fully transformed area symbolizes hope, sustainability, and civic connection. Spanning over 5,100 square meters, this urban space stands as one of the most meaningful legacies for a city that honors its past while envisioning a more conscious and resilient future.

A Park with Purpose

Kia Parks is more than just a physical space; it is a commitment to collective well-being, where childhood, play, and respect for the environment take center stage.

This transformation was made possible through a strategic alliance between Kia, the Mayor's Office of Santa Marta, INRED, Green Souls, and the local community, a testament to how collaboration can reshape reality.

Our commitment is to create a better and sustainable future as a brand. We are creating harmony with nature, communities, and sustainability.

Sustainability in Action

Kia Parks is a tangible example of how sustainability can be integrated into urban design

Rehabilitated Areas:

  • Children's furniture
  • Existing infrastructure
  • Tree cover
  • Benches and tables
  • Inclusive and adapted play areas
  • Wide paths
  • Pet-friendly areas
  • Areas designated for pet recreation
  • Sports areas

Before

Before the transformation, the basketball courts showed significant wear and tear due to the passage of time and lack of maintenance.

Although they had great potential, they were limited by the lack of adequate furniture and recreational areas.

They lacked spaces that invited the community to gather, share, or enjoy themselves, such as:

  • Pet-friendly areas
  • Outdoor activity areas

There was no children's infrastructure to promote play and physical activity for children.

After

Over 80% of the children's play equipment was made from 100% recycled materials.

Existing infrastructure was reused to reduce CO2 emissions.

The original tree canopy was preserved, with the design adapted to the environment without cutting down trees.

Benches and tables were made from a mix of 60% concrete and 40% C&D (Construction and Demolition) waste, recovered directly from the site.

The collection and certification of C&D waste were carried out by specialized companies, ensuring responsible construction.

Pet-friendly areas, adapted play equipment, and wide pathways ensure a barrier free experience.

More than 600 children and youth who practice sports such as volleyball, soccer, and athletics will benefit directly.

The Santa Marta community actively participated in the park's design and adoption, becoming ambassadors of change.

A Space for Everyone

These actions align with the ESG criteria that underpin Kia's global sustainability strategy.

Kia Parks is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all: children, adults, pets, and people with reduced mobility. Every corner of the park meets universal accessibility standards, allowing everyone to enjoy recreation and community gathering.
